English Beginner

Course Description

Access to affordable, appropriate and good quality health care is the basic right of all citizens. India is now aiming for universal health coverage which effectively means strengthening health systems by making available good quality care including the diagnostics available at public health facilities. Build-up of an appropriate diagnostics system will ensure healthy lives, help in maximizing the impact of the essential medicines list and eventually for achieving the goal of providing universal healthcare. Recognizing the fact that availability ofhigh quality diagnostics in health care system is crucial for imparting good quality health services, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has developed the National Essential Diagnostic List (NEDL). Following the release of first edition of EDL by WHO in May, 2018, India is the first country to launch the National EDL (NEDL). The NEDL builds upon the Free Diagnostics Service Initiative and other diagnostics
